Cheers Chris, just seen the LG.  It wouldn't be a lifer but would be a nice addition to both the year and british lists.  Albert Village is right next to a rubbish tip which is the main attraction for the gulls and I'm hoping that, even though they won't be turning over, gulls haven't got calendars.  Target species: Great Black-back and Caspian Gulls with a bit of a trawl round for Waxwing and possibly the winter swans (Bewicks at Willington, Whooper at Ambaston).  That would take me to 147.  With Water Rail, Stonechat and Brambling how I intend to hit 150.  Everything after that is a bonus.

Simon – don't want to put a dampers on tomorrow but someone has pointed out on another forum that gull roosts are often quiet on a Sunday because the tips are closed, just something to bear in mind….

Still I imagine there will be plenty of people looking…

Good luck with the gull watching and recruiting. Not sure about the Franklins – no news for a while now, but you never know. There's normally a ring billed too at the Carsington roost this time of year, so you never know that might drop in.

Me, Dave and Jim are off to the Idle Valley that day so hopefully should bring back some decent reports from there.

On Sunday morning, representatives from the Friends of Straws Bridge group and Erewash Borough Council will be recruiting at the site off High Lane East in West Hallam.  If anybody is interested.  Following I am planning on going to Albert Village in Leicestershire for a spot of gull watching.  I will probably leave Straws Bridge around 12.30 to ensure enough time before the gulls up and move over to Foremark for the roost (although that could be worth a visit if the Franklins is still knowcking around, any news?)
