I checked yesterday a couple of times, a lovely Great Spot Woodpecker on Acorn Avenue in the small copse, which was alive with birds, was the only interest.

My Dad has been keeping an eye out and has not seen them around, I will have another look in the morning as I am now back home. With the snow forecast to the north east maybe it will force a few more down in our direction.

I tried around 12 yesterday and couldn't locate them.  I get the impression that most of the Waxwings around are moving about a bit.

What with that and the Firecrest at Moorgreen it's a good day locally…

Just outside the area, but at Giltbrook this morning, between Acorn Avenue and Robina Drive were at least 3 Waxwings. Unfortunately I could only see the very top of the tree that they were in and I did not have time to investigate further. There are a few trees in the area with berries, including in my own garden so they may stick around for a day or two, however I am working away and will not get back until tomorrow night, so will probably find the trees in my garden stripped bare on my return.
