There are several categories you can post to, avoid the ones that are under DaveJ’s blog, my blog, or Mick C’s blog (use the All Categories view to see the hierarchy). But feel free to choose the most appropriate otherwise – “sightings” is good for photo posts from locally, there’s “Holiday and Trip Reports” for further afield and “misc” is always good for those you aren’t sure about. If you want to go as far as having you own blog posts then I can create you a new category and short cut on the front menu.

To add a photo to the post you need special permissions, so comment below if you want to do this and I’ll add you. Once you have those rights then see attached screen shots and the below write up.

For completeness I’ve outlined all the steps from scratch

Step 1: When writing the post select the little square box above the post text box (immediately to the right of Upload/Insert)

Step 2: Select the “Files from Computer” and choose the files you want to include. Once you’ve done this and hit “Save all Changes” they will be moved to the new Gallery(x) tab – where x is the number of pictures you uploaded.

Step 3: From the Gallery (x) tab, “show” the pciture in question. At the bottom you will see a “insert into post” option, alongside “Use as featured image” and “Delete”. You can change the size and alignment in the options directly above that button.
